About MasterCard® SecureCode™
The MasterCard SecureCode™ is a new global e-commerce solution that enables cardholders to authenticate themselves over the Internet through the use of a private code, alleviating concerns they may have about the security of online shopping. How does MasterCard SecureCode work?
Each time a cardholder pays at a participating online merchant with their MasterCard, a webpage is presented by the issuer asking the cardholder to authenticate themselves before the purchase is completed. The issuer then confirms the identity of the cardholder and the transaction is processed. With this extra safeguard, cardholders enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that unauthorized card use is far less likely at a MasterCard SecureCode enabled merchant. Cardholders may locate MasterCard SecureCode enabled merchants by visiting www.mastercard.com and clicking on the MasterCard SecureCode link or by visiting http://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en/cardholderservices/securecode/shop_online.html.Cardholders can register for MasterCard SecureCode in one of the following ways:
- By visiting The Bancorp Bank's dedicated website. Cards issued by The Bancorp Bank can be registered at: www.thebancorppsg.com/securecode
- By visiting the marketer's dedicated website and clicking onto the MasterCard SecureCode link. The link provided on the marketer's website will direct the cardholder to The Bancorp Bank's dedicated website.
- By visiting www.mastercard.com and clicking onto the MasterCard SecureCode link or by visiting http://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en/cardholderservices/securecode/shop_online.html.
- By activation during shopping. Once the cardholder submits their order at a participating merchant, a window from the card issuer appears and offers the cardholder the opportunity to register. The cardholder may complete a simple two step enrollment process prior to completing the current transaction.
